Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Marrakech

Your 8 Day Tour from Marrakech to Sahara Desert and Chefchaouen begins upon arrival at Marrakech Airport. Depending on your arrival time, meet your local guide for a guided tour of Marrakech. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, built in 1147 under the Almohad Caliph Abd al-Mu’min, explore the Bahia Palace, constructed in the late 19th century by Si Moussa, discover the Secret Garden, originally dating back to the Saadian Dynasty and restored before reopening in 2016, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna Square. Overnight stay in Marrakech at Riad Anya & SPA or similar.

Day 2Day Trip to Essaouira

Today, head west to Essaouira, a charming Atlantic coastal town founded in 1769 by Sultan Mohammed Ben Abdallah. Upon arrival, explore the historic medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, stroll along the lively fishing port, visit the Skala de la Ville ramparts built in the 18th century, and enjoy free time by the beach or in the colorful souks. Later, return to Marrakech for an overnight stay at Riad Anya & SPA or similar.

Day 3Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley

This morning, cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, reaching an altitude of 2,260 meters. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified ksar dating back to the 11th century and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Afterwards, pass through Ouarzazate, home to Atlas Studios established in 1983, then continue through Skoura and the Rose Valley before reaching Dades Valley for an overnight stay at Luxury Riad Dadès or similar.

Day 4Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, continue towards the Sahara Desert. Along the way, stop at the spectacular Todra Gorges, where towering canyon walls rise up to 300 meters above the riverbed. Next, pass through Tinjdad and Erfoud, a town known for its fossil workshops and date production. Upon arrival in Merzouga, ride camels across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy a memorable sunset before reaching your luxury desert camp for dinner and an overnight stay at Itran Royal Camp or similar.

Day 5Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Ifrane – Fes

First, pass through Erfoud and the scenic Ziz Valley, known for its vast palm groves and dramatic landscapes. Later, continue across the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Midelt, Ifrane, established in 1929 during the French Protectorate, and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to Barbary macaques. Afterwards, continue to Fes for an overnight stay at Palais Houyam or similar.

Day 6Fes – Chefchaouen

This morning, discover the highlights of Fes with a local guide. Visit the historic medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981, explore the famous tanneries, and see Al Quaraouiyine, founded in 859 by Fatima al-Fihri and considered the world’s oldest continually operating university. Afterwards, head north through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, Morocco’s Blue City. Founded in 1471 by Moulay Ali Ben Rachid, Chefchaouen is known for its blue-painted streets and relaxed atmosphere. Overnight stay in Chefchaouen at TAJ CHEFCHAOUEN Luxury Hotel and Spa or similar.

Day 7Chefchaouen – Rabat – Casablanca

Enjoy a final walk through the blue streets of Chefchaouen before heading towards Rabat, Morocco’s capital city. Upon arrival, visit the Hassan Tower, an unfinished mosque begun in 1195 by the Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur, and explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, a historic fortress overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Later, continue to Casablanca to visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, completed in 1993 under the reign of King Hassan II. Overnight stay in Casablanca at Novotel Casablanca City Center or similar.

Day 8Casablanca Departure

Today, your driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Casablanca Airport according to your flight schedule. This marks the end of your 8 Day Tour from Marrakech to Sahara Desert and Chefchaouen.
