We then continue to the village of Sidi Mokhtar, an area known for its argan trees. If we are lucky, we may see goats climbing the branches in search of fruit, a unique and famous sight in Morocco. After taking photos or simply enjoying the countryside, we move on toward Ounagha. Around 11 AM, we stop at one of the largest women’s cooperatives producing argan oil. Here you can learn about the traditional methods used to create Morocco’s liquid gold, from cracking the nuts to pressing the oil, while supporting local communities and women’s work.
When we arrive in Essaouira, a professional local guide will meet us at the entrance of the medina. Together we explore the lively fishing port, the UNESCO-listed old town, Moulay Hassan Square, art galleries, workshops, and the Skala ramparts with their historic cannons. You will also have time to walk along the sandy beach and enjoy the fresh Atlantic breeze. After sightseeing, lunch is served in a seafront restaurant with delicious seafood. In the afternoon we start the return journey and arrive back in Marrakech in the evening, around 7 to 7:30 PM marking the end of Essaouira Day Trip from Marrakech.
