3 Valleys From Marrakech

Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech to Berber Villages in Atlas Mountains

Leaving Marrakech Behind

Your day begins at 8:00 AM. Your driver guide picks you up from your hotel or riad and you head toward the High Atlas Mountains. As the city disappears behind you, the scenery opens up beautifully. After about one hour of driving, you arrive at your first stop.

A Morning With a Berber Family

Your first visit is a real Berber family home. This is one of the most memorable parts of the trip. Unlike a museum, this is an actual home where a family lives. They welcome you in with genuine warmth. You will walk through the kitchen, the living room, the traditional hammam, and other rooms. In this way, you get a real glimpse into a way of life that has stayed the same for generations.

Then you all sit together for a traditional Berber breakfast. On the table you will find butter, amlou, honey, olive oil, fresh local bread, and mint tea. As a lovely bonus, you will also learn how Moroccan mint tea is prepared, straight from the people who have been making it their whole lives.

The Waterfalls of Setti Fatma

After breakfast, you continue to the village of Setti Fatma. A local guide welcomes you and leads a short hike up to the waterfalls. As you climb, the sound of rushing water grows louder. It is a wonderful mix of light adventure and pure nature.

Lunch at a local family Valley

From there, you head toward the second valley, Oukaimeden. Along the way, you pass through authentic Berber villages. Eventually, you arrive at Ait Fares village. Here, a fresh lunch has been prepared by the women of a local family. While you eat, you can sip mint tea and enjoy the mountain views. It feels nothing like eating at a restaurant, and that is exactly what makes it so special.

Through Asni Valley

Once lunch is done, you continue to the third valley, Asni. Your guide makes several relaxed stops along the way. As a result, you have plenty of time to step out, breathe in the mountain air, and take photos of the stunning landscapes around you.

Back to Marrakech

Finally, as evening sets in, you begin the comfortable drive back to Marrakech. By the time you arrive, you will have shared a meal with a Berber family, hiked to a waterfall, and explored three stunning valleys. In short, it is a full day well spent.
