3 day Tour From Marrakech to Merzouga begins with an early departure from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. After about one hour and a half on the road, we stop at a panoramic viewpoint to enjoy mint tea or coffee and use the toilet. Then, the journey continues through the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, where you will have time to capture photos of the winding road and the surrounding valleys.
After crossing the pass, the trip reaches Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks. Here, you enjoy a guided visit and have free time for lunch. Afterwards, we drive to Skoura to explore the historic Amridil Kasbah, one of the best-preserved kasbahs in Morocco.
Meanwhile, the road then continues through the Rose Valley. We stop at a women’s cooperative to learn about rose water distillation and discover local products.
Eventually, the tour arrives in the Dades Valley. Before reaching your hotel or riad, we stop to admire the famous rock formations known as the Monkey Fingers. Finally, overnight stay in Luxury Riad Dadès or similar.
Day 2 of the 3 day Tour From Marrakech to Merzouga begins with breakfast in Dades Valley. The journey continues through scenic landscapes, with several viewpoints to stop and capture photos of the valley and the surrounding Atlas Mountains. Afterwards, the road leads to Todra Gorge, where you take a short walk inside the spectacular canyon and admire the cliffs that rise up to 300 meters. Moreover, the views along the way make the drive even more enjoyable.
Then, the trip continues to the town of Tinjdad. Here, we stop for lunch in a 17th-century kasbah that has been transformed into a traditional restaurant. After that, the road takes us to Erfoud, often called the gateway to the Sahara Desert. A short stop is made here to purchase water or other supplies if needed. Therefore, you are well prepared before entering the desert region.
In the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, the starting point of the Erg Chebbi dunes. At sunset, a camel ride takes you across the golden sand dunes to a luxury desert camp. Day 3 of the 3 day Tour From Marrakech to Merzouga starts with sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes and breakfast in the desert camp. Afterwards, we begin the return journey. The first stop is in Rissani to visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, the founder of the Alaouite dynasty.
Then, the road continues to Anlif, a small town where you can stretch your legs, enjoy a glass of mint tea, and use the toilet. Afterwards, we drive through Tazarine before reaching N’Qoub. Here, there is the option to stop for lunch if you feel hungry. If not, we continue towards Agdz, another possible stop for lunch if it was not taken earlier.
Meanwhile, later in the afternoon, the route crosses landscapes filled with palm groves and mountains before reaching Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the Sahara. Eventually, we travel back across the High Atlas Mountains and arrive in Marrakech late in the evening.
